The Top Five Terra Trailblazers Riders Of 2020.
Who has the energy? Who can’t be bothered? Who would rather go to work? They are all in the running for the 2020 Terra Trailblazers keenest riders. In reverse order...
Number 5
Sneaking in at number 5 with 11 rides is SuperBri, taking advantage of the lockdown and getting back to some proper riding, away from that skinny tyres and Lycra nonsense.
Number 4
A surprise contender at number 4 is Rod, considering he works days and our Spanish trip was cancelled, he still managed to ride with us weekday warriors 13 times, only 2 rides down from last year.
Number 3
The Ginger One takes the bronze medal for attendance with 18 rides, even though that is 11 rides less than last year, most probably to do with the cancellation of the curious 1950’s pastimes he considers sports. Obviously maximising the number of overtime shifts he worked had an impact too. Still pitiful when you consider he has around 220 shifts off in a year.
Number 2
The only true enthusiast comes in at number 2, The Breadlad racked up an unprecedented 44 rides this year, up 6 from last year. Which shows how severely his normal lifestyle as a jetsetting international playboy was curtailed by the virus.
Number 1
Straight in at number 1 is La Mujerita, with 54 rides, 22 more than last year, as we formed our own socially-distanced bubble throughout the main lockdown.
The Also Rans.
Keith managed 8 rides, a good effort considering he’s the only one of the Nissan lads too youthful to be retired. And our annual week shredding the Costa Del Sol didn’t happen this year.
Olly managed to reconnect with us for half a dozen rides, when he wasn’t self-isolating, he has spent more time in a small room than Terry Waite this year.
The Youth could only show his face 4 times in the past 12 months, a massive 14 rides less than last year. A day job and a shoulder operation have ruined his year.
The Others
A few others joined us in a dilettante fashion, squeezing the odd ride or two into their busy schedules over the year but mountain biking isn’t for everyone, particularly anyone who enjoys being warm, dry and clean.
