February 2017 Round Up and Video.
The second month of the year came and went with a distinct lack of meteorological mishaps, other than the hypothetical cataclysm’s conjectured in the popular press. Naturally, being winter in North East England, things are a little sloppy and informed choices must be made regarding suitable tracks; even so, the wrong choices may have, on the odd, rare occasion been made and we found ourselves performing the cycling equivalent of wading through treacle.
Storm Doris and her lesser siblings spoilt a couple of days and another was totally lost when the office-dwelling, paper-shuffling, desk-monkey, box-tickers decided they are envious of the amount of time off us shift people have and trapped us in hours of pointless Powerpoint padding to squander the day. And, predictably enough, it was a whole day of lovely weather.
All this month’s rides were fairly short but the aforementioned conditions made them arduous, when not actually mud-plugging, sodden grass and damp gravel made things hard going. Still, we had a large cast of willing victims participants and even managed a bit of jumpy stuff to keep the youngsters happy.
