The Top Five Terra Trailblazers Riders Of 2021

The Top Five Terra Trailblazers Riders Of 2021

It's that time of year again, the Terra Trailblazers attendance awards. Who are the shirkers and who are the workers? A few surprise entries this year, old and new faces. Without further ado, we start in reverse order, as all the best competitions do.

Number 5.

Dropping from first last year to fifth is La Mujerita, with a mere 13 rides, a massive 44 rides down from last year, various broken bones being the main reason.

Number 4.

Staying static at fourth place is Rod, despite having five more rides with us than last year, 18 for 2021. A fantastic effort seeing as he has the misfortune to be a day worker and doesn’t have much weekday riding.

Number 3.

It’s a tie for third place, between Keith and Simon T. both with 21 rides each. Keith has dragged himself down from Sunderland, sometimes before an afternoon shift, 13 times more than he did in 2020 and Simon T. newly returned to the comforting caress of mountain biking, went from zero outings last year to 21 this year.

Number 2.

Soaring up from 5th place last year is SuperBri with a phenomenal 35 rides, 24 up on last year. If he hadn’t spent the last 3 months on the settee recovering from surgery, he would have probably taken the top spot.

Number 1.

Despite doing 4 less rides than last year, The Breadlad takes the crown with 40 rides. What his attendance gained from the curtailment of his jetsetting playboy lifestyle, it lost through a herniated spinal disc, which kept him drafting SuperBri for most of the year, only to pull out at the last moment and spurt into the lead.

The Also Rans

Special mentions must be made for Miles and Bingo Bob who both managed 7 outings each and Howard, who despite nowadays living under the curse of a day job, joined us for 9 rides.

The Has Beens.

They shall remain nameless. Those whose mountain bikes have had less action than the Vatican condom machine, former cyclists now overcome with languor and lassitude, like swooning maidens in a Victorian melodrama. “I can’t possibly ride in that, it’s far too wet/cold/muddy/hot/dry*” (*delete as applicable) They know who they are.
